And we have lift off! Whole Foods Newport Beach is open for business. Newport Beach is a whole new place to shop for just about everything to make your life a little bit finer. Thanks to fresh local produce, viagra sale organic meats, sushi, and did I mention a Bar? Our family has been waiting for this glorious day, you can read about that over HERE.
We stopped in last week, come along and check it out friends.
Fashion Island is the place. The easiest way to enter Whole Foods Newport Beach without getting bogged down in Fashion Island Traffic is to enter off MacArthur at San Joaquin Hills Rd, then turn left onto Santa Rosa Dr. It’s a direct beeline to the parking lot. Once you have arrived a new shopping experience awaits you. Are you ready?
First off the Meat department, with a full line of locally sourced, 100% grass-fed beef, chicken and turkey and high end cuts of meat not easily found in other markets. Here is the seafood case, it’s so fresh. I bet those critters have just been pulled out of the Pacific Ocean a few miles away. Scallops, Lobsters, Squid, and yes, Sea Urchin, are all waiting to be wrapped up in white paper to be taken home.
Making our way to the prepared food section. The in-store kitchen features handcrafted pizza, in-house chips and dips, rolled-to-order sushi, organic salad bar, hot soups, meals-on-the-go. Thanks to the in-house executive chef, everything is restaurant quality. Get there early on work days. Executive from the surrounding offices assemble to scout out the latest lunch time creations. The salad bar is a definite crowd pleaser. So many options!
Lastly, lets talk Sushi and the Back Bay Tavern + The Tea Hive. This is where I will be spending the majority of my time before/after grocery shopping. The Back Bay Tavern is an unexpected bar/restaurant next to the in-store kitchen. It has a rotating selection of 24 craft beers on tap, plus wine and spirits, along with an extensive menu of beef, seafood, vegetarian and vegan options. There also is a smaller “Express” wine and beer bar with 12 beers on tap at the front of the store for quicker service. Not to mention the staff is the most charming and cordial crew to ever be hired.
If a sip of booze is not your thing, the Tea Hive will definitely float your boat. The Tea Hive offers green, black or oolong tea in almost any imaginable form – frozen, sparkling, iced or steamed. Don’t be surprised to find me sipping an oolong tea while dipping my freshly rolled Salmon Sashimi roll in soy sauce while I review my grocery list. I’ll be doing this online since the store has free Wi-fi. Yep, this store is like none other Orange County.
See you there!
