Whole Foods Market Newport Beach is Coming

whole food grand opening

How many of you have been anxiously awaiting for the arrival of the new 32,000 square-foot Whole Foods Market at 415 Newport Center Drive in Fashion Island?  As far as I am concerned we need a Whole Foods Market on every corner in Orange County. Shopping at a Whole Foods Market takes grocery shopping to a whole new level.

I’ve been known to skip through the aisles with my shopping cart leading the way. If my family can’t keep up with me, they know to wait for me at the cheese counter.

What about the Whole Foods Market Meat Counter? Have you ever seen one? If not, it is a bucket list must. Behind sparkling glass you will find the highest quality meat, from animals raised without antibiotics and added hormones. It is an impressive display of proteins.

And finally the juice and coffee bar always smell so inviting to the senses. Fresh squeezed juices and freshly brewed coffee fill the air. (I hear there will be an all-new “Instant Oatmeal On-the-Go”, perfect any time of the day.)

Did I mention the Cheese Section?

When will those long awaited doors be opening?  I’m delighted to announce, September 19th. The Whole Foods Market Newport Beach in Fashion Island will be the fifth Whole Foods Market in Orange County.  On Wednesday, September 19th, 2012, from 9am to 10pm the store will be highlighting many new in-store concepts and be hosting a variety of events. Here are just a few:

The Tea Hive – Customers will be able to choose green, black or oolong tea in almost any imaginable form – whether frozen, sparkling, iced or steamed. Specialty drinks are made in martini shakers by “Tea Tenders.” Among the offerings are a: Pomarita, a refreshing blend of pomegranate and tart lime with green tea, and Chocolate Chai, black tea, spiced chai, chocolate and cinnamon. Paired with these delicious beverages, are natural fusion entrees, such as bowls and wraps using local and organic products.

Back Bay Tavern – A Tavern with seating for 150 and a rotating selection of 24 craft beers on tap, plus wine and spirits, along with an extensive menu that includes beef, seafood, vegetarian and vegan meals. A smaller “Express” beer and wine bar with 12 beers on tap will be available at the front of the store for quicker service.

A ‘Get Crocked’ section that features complete meals to be taken home and easily prepared in a crock pot. This is absolutely on my radar to sample. It sounds like the perfect helping hand for those ‘what to serve for dinner after soccer practice’ days.

As for the Grand Opening fan fare, a variety of events have been planned for you to sample the store’s offerings.

  • Be among the first 300 customers in line for the 9:00 a.m. at the bread breaking ceremony to receive a complimentary demi-baguette.
  • There will also be delicious food & wine tastings throughout the day, local vendor demonstrations and Happy Hour specials in the Back Bay Tavern.
  • Print out the above image and receive a 16oz Back Bay Tavern Beer Glass. (with a minimum $10 purchase)

To wrap this post up, don’t be surprised to find me inhaling a delectable lunch in the Back Bay Tavern, grabbing an iced tea drink before Pilates, or enjoying a glass of 90 pt. Chardonnay wine after shopping. Grocery store nirvana has taken on a whole new meaning, it is called Whole Foods Market Newport Beach.

See you there friends,

{Disclosure: This is a sponsored post for Whole Foods Market Newport Beach. They asked me share the details of their Grand Opening. Since I adore Whole Foods Market I was pleased as punch to do so!}
