NO and you cannot make me!

All dogs, regardless of size or breed, need to be taken on daily walks to get moving. It is an important ritual in keeping your dog mentally and physically stable.

For our Beagles, Maddox and Buddy, when running shoes are in hand they begin singing like contestants trying out for American Idol, dancing included.

Walks USED to be slap-happy Iditarod’s with frenzies of purposeless pulling and choking only to cast off madly in all directions, fighting for command. Then this would happen a few blocks out…

and this

And this

until Buddy would join the ‘sit-in’ creating a sidewalk Sig-Alert lasting f.o.r.e.v.e.r.

Maddox sits, hunkers down and will not budge for he feels the direction he is walking is homeward bound; walk over. The King was establishing his Alpha Male role, “Imma not moving and you can’t make me”. I needed to regain control establishing my Beagle pack dominance. I consulted Cesar.

I now walk them just like Cesar Millan, mastering them by

Walking in front allows you to be seen as the pack leader. Conversely, if your dog controls you on the walk, he’s the pack leader. You should be the first one out the door and the first one in. Your dog should be beside or behind you during the walk.

We walked today and I owned the streets. No sitting just walking and obeying.

Thanks Cesar.
