How to Dress Like a Runway Model this Fall

Last week, with the Irvine Spectrum Ferris Wheel as a backdrop, Fashion Week hit Orange County. The Giant Wheel Court came to life. There were three individual runway presentations; OC Surf Sport Showcase, Cadillac: Contemporary Design, and a catwalk finale presenting fall fashions from the center’s boutiques and department stores. Kristen Rubi from GM WEST explains the featured Cadillac event;

As part of OC Style Week… Cadillac selected four recent LA FIDM graduates to create runway designs inspired by and using actual car components from the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe, CTS-V Sedan, SRX and Escalade Hybrid. The car-inspired looks took to the runway at Friday’s Cadillac Contemporary Design Show – who knew car parts could make for such sophisticated and luxurious fashion?! The event was hosted by a favorite Project Runway alum, Nick Verreos. This fantastic designers and red carpet commentator had the crowd on the edge of their seats with his charming personality. Especially with the donning of Ms. America’s crown. You “made-it-work” Nick, for the second year in a row.

As for the show, it had up-to-the-minute trends in both casual beach wear to holiday cocktail party attire. With the fall fashion line, I loved the interaction of the clothing with the jewelry. It was bold and alluring. I began to daydream about dressing like one of the models on the catwalk above me. So much so, I became inspired to do some runway research, tracking down a few beloved looks. Below is the collection of these looks and where you can find them from last Thursday night.
