Waffles with strawberries and whip cream just tasted awful. What in the heck was going on? I was still nursing a 9 month old. My appetite should have been hearty. No no no. It couldn’t be. My subconscious drove me to buy an EPT test, and the next morning it lit up like the Fourth of July. Later, I discovered I was almost 8 weeks pregnant. Sure makes for a shorter 9 months. I had proven the wives tale you can’t get pregnant while you’re nursing, is just that; a wives tale.
Turns out the womb was pretty comfy for number three. Due to some pregnancy diabetes, we had to evict you from your comfy home a little earlier than you planned. I suppose the older you get, the pregnancy thing gets a bit more difficult to bear. Sorry for the early eviction honey, but thank you for the easy delivery.
I cried when they handed you to me. The universe had given us the most unexpected surprise and you smelled like heaven in a bottle.
You were introduced to your big sister, big brother, and Darcey the Beagle. You lit up the family with excitement upon your arrival.
Sleep was just not your thing. It was an adventurous time trying to have you sleep on your own. On your first birthday, you said “sorry guys” and offered up beers to the crowd.
With your loving and fun soul, the world will be your oyster. Who knows the places you will go? The possibilities are endless.
Party Planner or Food Critic?
Veterinarian or Make-up Artist?
Furniture Designer or Landscape Architect?
Book Editor?
Diva or Doctor?
Engineer or Banker?
World Traveler or UCLA graduate (hope so)?
Oceanographer?
Fashion Model?
Comedian?
Whatever you decide, don’t lose your laughter and infectious enthusiasm. You still light up the family and all those around you with joy.
We thank the universe for you, our gift.
We love you any way you feel, no matter what you do.
We love you any way you are.
We love you because you’re you.
Happy Birthday
