Kitchen Family Room Makeover ~ Part Two Paint Color

June 9, 2011 by Kathleen

Moving on from yesterday.  Paint selection can be a tremulous process.  Hopeful color choices accompanied by walls slathered in a rainbow of disappointing results can be frustrating.  How do you trust your recommended choice when every room has its unique light influences.  I hear you.  Now, viagra let me hold your hand.

Here is my Kitchen Family Room inspiration from Candice Olsen:

I love the blue wall color, pills but how will this color translate to our south facing room?  Candice’s room, unhealthy shown above, is a basement for goodness sakes.  Light influences can really put a thorn in paint selections, believe me. What to do. WHAT TO DO.

Well friends, here is a FREE friendly website that can help with this dilemma:

Just upload a photo of your room:

Highlight the walls that need addressing,

Then start playing with color choices.

This blue is a touch too dark.  But, as you can see it works well with white and maple.  I now know I’m moving in the right direction.  I then click ‘lighter’ and the next selection is provided.

Now that is what I am talking about.

Candice, how am I doing?

Kathleen – our new kitchen is Benjamin Moore Palladian Blue. I love it, and its been getting lots and lots of compliments. Even my painter admired the selection. It is definitely worth putting a sample up. xoxoA
