December Honor Roll Round Up

Sometimes you come across a product that is so amazing and original, you just have to share. Here is a round up of some products I am in love with and make me SMILE.

1. Tom Ford Lipstick

It is expensive at $45 a tube, but here is the thing though. If your going to attempt a bright red lip, lets do it right. Tom Ford’s Private Blend Lip Color comes in 12 shades consisting of all kinds of froo froo ingredients which makes the color formulation creamy and stays put. It’s worth is. The swatches on my wrist match the lipstick tubs in the display.

Kathleen’s picks – Smoke Red (amazing all around red) and Moroccan Rouge (I am a sucker for a dark rose). I have been longing to own both of these shades all year long. Santa?

Vanilla Suede, Blush Nude, Pink Dusk, Warm Sable, Pure Pink, Cherry Lush, Smoke Red, True Coral, Ginger Fawn, Bruised Plum, Moroccan Rouge, Black Orchid.

Bruised Plum named “Best Dark Lipstick” in Allure magazine’s “Best of Beauty” (October 2010 issue, p226).

2. Paige Premium Denim ‘Hidden Hills’ Bootcut Stretch Jeans

The Modchik introduced me to these super flattering babies and I love them with all my heart. I have said goodbye to all my Joe’s Jeans. I could drone on and on about their stretchiness, cut and waist line fit but just find a pair to try on. You will be pleasantly surprised. You can find them at Nordstrom’s.com

3. Hair Thursday by Sarah James

I love her hair tips and product recommendations. Not to mention her very new hair cut. She mentioned a few Alterna products she loved and her recommendations did not disappoint. Which brings me to the products.

4. Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Styling Tonic

A medium hold setting spray for styles that require a blow dryer, hot rollers or flat/curling iron. Provides lasting volume with movement and a natural finish. MEDIUM HOLD. Free of sulfates, gluten, parabens, synthetic color, DEA, TEA, phthalates, mineral oil, PABA, and paraffin. And smells FRESH.

5. Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Working Hairspray

An ultra-dry, brushable spray that provides progressive control for soft styling. Restores both vibrancy and elasticity to the hair. LIGHT-MEDIUM HOLD. Also smells FRESH.

Thanks Sarah! (FYI she also has a fantastic and super entertaining site called Whoorl)

6. Bissell SpotBot ProHeat Hands-Free Compact Deep Cleaner

Needless to say, a carpet cleaner is a must-have for us. It is used many times during the week with three dogs and three little ones. Oh yeah and I’m completely insane for having cream color carpet. What.Was.I.Thinking. I’m not going to go into great detail about this handy carpet helper because that would be just plain vulgar. But I highly recommend this machine. So here are the non-vulgar details. It makes the honor roll because of its size (very portable from room to room), the dirty water holder is large, it has a built in water heater, and there are two cycles, plus a manual option. The automatic function allows you to plop your machine on the stain and walk away, while the manual function lets you do the work with the attached hose all by yourself. The surface stain cycle runs about 3 minutes, the set-in stain cycle runs about 6 minutes. Have you ever scrubbed a stain for 6 minutes straight?

Nuf Said.

6. Premier Busy Buddy Tug-a-Jug Treat Dispensing Dog Toy

Lastly I can’t forget my beloved Beagle Brigade. Shhhh don’t tell but here is a peak at their Christmas presents. I’ll put some Zukes Mini Naturals (moist dog treats with no wheat corn or soy) in the bottle and watch the beagles go at it. They can see them, smell them, and hear them. They just need to figure out how to maneuver that rope to taste victory. The rope when pulled blocks the treats from escaping. Question is, which of the three beagles will figure it out first….. my money is on Maddox.

So there you have it – December’s Honor Roll. More next month in 2011.

Smooches friends.

  1. I must have that spot cleaner and the dog toy. I must have them immediately! “Let’s have TWO dogs!” What was I thinking???? I also have two area rugs with white backgrounds because I like to be punished, apparently.

I’m a total devotee to Clinique’s black honey *almost lipstick.* It doesn’t stay on very long, but it’s pretty. I cannot justify $45 for lipstick to my husband.

    • Crissy yup that Spot Bot along with some spray on Folex is pure magic. I have never used the ‘add in’ liquid cleaners, hot water has always done the job.
And yes I would buy a Spot Bot before lipstick any given day.
So, I bought the Red lipstick as a birthday present to myself. It is very special. And all my little people received a lesson that this tube of lipstick was a “No-Touchie”. We will see how long that lasts, I keep it hidden in Fort Knox.

  2. I have to share my own story about the Premier Busy Buddy Tug-a-Jug Treat Dispensing Dog Toy. I got this lovely toy for my big beautiful girls (Labrador Retrievers) last year and they got fed up with the trying and trying to get that treat out that they just chewed off the rubber ball, shredded the rope and turned the plastic bottle upside until the treats fell out. Gotta love ’em!!!

  3. Hmmm…. I can already picture Daphney happily chewing the jug when she turns around to make sure Maddox isn’t around. She looks back at her jug 3 seconds later and BAM! Maddox is running away jug in hand {Or in this case, mouth}
