New Family Room from Candice Oslon Tells All

The family room. It’s the one place in our home where everyone congregates. Having the kitchen next to it helps in gathering the crowd.  The floor is wood and the cabinets are maple. The walls where yellow, pharmacy so over it.  Last spring, tadalafil I thought this was the direction the room was headed thanks to Candice Olsen Tells All. 

But, unhealthy times are a-changing. This look has become too light for me, even with my California taste. Time for some bold touches. I found a different inspiration room, also from Candice Olson Tells All. Behold.

Now we are talkin’. Our Kitchen/Family Great Room will no longer feel like living in a yellow banana. Goodbye warm tones coming from every direction.

Navy, grey, and white, accentuated by gold is now the winning recipe.  Over the last 3 months I have combed through online stores looking for pieces that could bring this look to life in our home. Here was my first happy find.

This chair, wait for it, was from Costco $349 shipping and handling included. Horchow, Ballard Design and William Sonoma Home all were asking over $800 for their wing back chairs. We love our Costco leather chairs and if we hadn’t, they would have been returnable for no charge. {psst… they are still in stock}

As for the remaining items to buy. I love these Sunbrella drapes from Restoration Hardware. They will hold up just fine indoors with our south-facing doors.

And this Martha Stewart Living all-weather rug I feel is beagle approved. This hard-working 8’ x 11’ weave, is only $267 with free shipping. Now that’s a price to proud of Home Decorator Collection.

I’ve painted, bought a new sofa with chairs, and picked out pillows. Things are starting to come together. Next up; rug, drapes, and some molding. Some art and lighting too. I’ll share those later.
