iPhone Photography a Visual Guide

July 9, 2012 by Kathleen

I take photos with my iPhone and I’m proud to say I’m an instagramer.

A what?

Instgram is a photo sharing app for both the iPhone and Android. Folks add photos to their feed by either using the camera built into their phone or by using a traditional camera. With a traditional camera pic, you are uploading it to an iPhone from your computer to post on instagram. Both ways are acceptable and instagramer worthy.  I fall into the category of iPhone-photos-only instagramer. Call me a purist and an instagramer with my daily photo contributions to my feed.

When Ali Worthington asked me to be a contributor to her online book.  I was honored. She was writing a how-to book on iphoneography, chalked full of tips, apps recommendations, and photos. iPhone Photography- The Visual Guide is 163 pages for only $5, to download right to your computer. To have forever and ever.

Here is the link to preview the goods, check it out:

You will discover how this photo:

Became this Instagram photo,

by using Camera+ (iphone app), cropping, then VSCO fade (iphone app). Worked with the colors, until I heard myself exhale, then uploaded it into Instagram. A final touch of tilt shift to add another layer of haze and viola. Took all of two minutes and my creative outlet for the day had been fulfilled.

iPhone Photography a Visual Guide will help your iPhone pic’s go from normal to kinda cool, by letting your creative juices flow.

It’s addictive.

You can do it to! Promise.

And very soon, you to will understand every.single.word of this YouTube video.

See you soon fellas. Can’t wait.

I love the camera+ app and my new favorite is the PicFX app just for the fancy lighting overlays. That video was hilarious!

Wendy – rule of thirds. It keeps the pictures neat, tidy and interesting.

This video by Jody Johnson and Ryan Carl was just the beginning. They have set out to canvas the county meeting fellow instagramer and taping a video series. They are known as ‘pilgramers’, clever huh?

They will be in Orange County soon, a group of us are quite excited to meet these talented cohorts. I’ll be sure to share. 🙂

I am madly in love with all of your photos! I can’t watch vids on the archaic computer I am on but will watch it soon. I need some serious tutoring for my iPhotos.
