Selecting a Holiday Card

November 10, 2011 by Kathleen

Do you send out holiday cards?  I hope you so.  I really do.

After recovering from a late November Turkey Coma, cards arriving from far and wide have me racing against my little people to see what has been delivered to the mail box.  There is something magical about receiving cards during the holiday season.  Each is such a tiny 4×6 gift.   Come on, let’s all say it together, there is something so much better about a holiday card with a photo.   Additionally, if a funny, wipe your eyes funny, family letter is included, you get triple gold star bonus points.

We have one friend who knocks it out of the park every year.  They combine the funny photo and card. They are always brilliant.

Christmas 2010 038

Last December, a Nacho Libre card arrived.  Prior years have featured Star Wars characters; Princess Leia and R2D2 included.  I wish I could find more to share.  I did attempt to go through my files.  Of course, I saved these cards somewhere so special, they can no longer be found.   I guess we will just have to wait for this years to arrive.  Ms. Tiffany, I cannot wait to see what you have in store for us.

I would love to do something like this, one year I just may surprise you.  Our holiday card tends to lean on the traditional side.  I considered a capture consisting of each family member holding an electronic device, heads down, saying don’t bother me with a hand signal.  It was voted down.  This year we ended up doing the familiar.  Dressing in Sunday-Best for that one photo representing our family together.  Would you like to take a trip down memory lane, come with me on a little 5 minute tour of our Holiday’s Past.

So sad, I fretted she would pass before I had the chance to mail the card. She held on until late December  2009. We all miss Darcey the Beagle being in the photo.

That is a whole lot of mouths to feed.

We have taken our photo for this years card.  I can’t wait to see the proofs.   When they arrive I have a few card choices in mind.   Help me, I’ve narrowed it down to four favorites… they are from Tiny Prints  I have used them for the last two years and love their choices and printing.
