Beautiful Interior Paint Colors

April 17, 2011 by Kathleen

I have been in the redecorating mood lately something fierce.  The first target in my viewfinder is the kitchen. These walls need a new coat of paint.  Then we will need new upholstery to match, treatment  AND then new window coverings…  the snow ball is off and rolling.  It is a slippery slope, I tell ya.   While staring at color swatches until blind, I realize I have become a fan of warm neutrals, greens, and blues for household walls.  Here are a few favorites with the help of Real Simple.  The two winning Kitchen Shades are at the bottom. I have it narrowed down to two blues.  Which one do you prefer friends? (Yes, I have maple cabinets)

Hmm. I’m thinking the iceberg will give you the contrast you’re looking for and keep it somewhat lighter however it may end up looking like a bathroom so I’m going with the Woodlawn. 😀 You’ll still have good contrast with the maple cabinets and it’s not so dark as to make your kitchen super dark.

I’m voting for the Woodlawn Blue – if I remember you have a lot of light in your kitchen area and I’m afraid that the Iceburg will be even lighter with the reflection. But, I love them both!

I’ve read that your kitchen or dining room should not be blue. Butvif your going to do it, go with Uceberg because jit seems a little more green/gray blue.

All of these color choices are PERFECTION. Did you dabble in Interior Design? The Iceberg with maple cabinets is an ideal contrast. What color are your floors?
Thank you for these colors, I am now inspired to freshen up my crib.

Woodlawn Blue. I have maple cabinets and had our kitchen repainted with a gray/blue – was really worried that it would be too dark, but it looks very classy against the maple 🙂

Woodlawn Blue for sure!!! I’m actually going to re-paint my kitchen, master bath, and the kids room. I might just have to steal that Woodlawn Blue from you. 🙂
