Two Trader Joe’s Amazing Finds

November 2, 2010 by Kathleen

Today we have not one, but TWO,  new Trader Joe’s finds I’m head over heals in love with.

#1

Mid October 070

Trader Joe’s Highbrow Chocolate Chip Cookies ($3.99)

“Highbrow”? What does this mean when applied to  boxed Chocolate Chip cookies?

Inquiring minds want to know.

I simply had to find out for myself.  Verdict, they are divine and delicious. I selfishly ate the entire box myself and fought my family off with a broom.  If you like your chocolate chip cookies a little crisp, not soft and chewy, you’ll love these. They taste like my mom’s recipe. They are a touch salty but not in a must-find-water potato chip kind of way. Suffice it to say, these Trader Joe’s Highbrow Chocolate Chip Cookies are worthy of their name “Highbrow”.

Calories: 140 for serving size 2 cookies approximately 16 per box or so – I lost count in my binging.

OC Intl Street Fair 2010 ENGE-4448

Remember these little darlings from the Orange County Street Fair? Which sold for

OC Intl Street Fair 2010 ENGE-4405

Easy now, stop licking your computer screen somebody might see you in your cubicle.

Well Trader Joe’s now has an amazing offering.

 Mid October 073Mid October 074

Trader Joe’s Danish Pancakes (Ableskiver’s – $3.49)

I tasted these last week during a TJ’s friendly demonstration and they had me weak in the knees.  I found myself coming up with reasons to quietly and quickly return to the demonstration to grab just.one.more.

By my third return I knew this product was a hallelujah.  Of course they were covered in powder sugar, but the doughy consistency had me nodding my head in approval. My inner culinary creativity surged;  what about cinnamon sugar, sprinkles, hot fudge, or the ultimate Kahlua Hot Fudge Sauce with these babies?

Calories: 170 for a serving size of 2 . Approximately 20 per bag.

Run. Do not walk .

These are perfect for the upcoming holidays or any time for that matter.

Put these indulgences in your fridge and pantry, you will not be sorry.
