Shop Talk – Silly Bandz

July 30, 2010 by Kathleen

  Silly Bands

What the heck are Silly Bandz?

They are a fad that has spread across the United States. Every Tween and there younger siblings are wearing these rubber band bracelets, sovaldi trading them and begging Mommy and Daddy or using hard earned allowances to plunk down $5 a pack.

They do have an appeal. I have seen the look of wonder on children’s faces while opening a pack to decipher what each design is, cheap then divvy up the spoils between their rat pack. Silly Bandz, they hold their shape when not in use, come in a variety of shapes which include basic shapes, as well as holidays, seasons, animals, music, fantasy and sports shapes.  Kiddos trade, collect and gift these interesting bands. The cooler the design, like the ones below, the more bargaining power the holder has. Think of them as wearable trading cards.

Not to worry we are keeping these prized possessions away from the likes of her:

I was not paid to endorse these bands, I am just sharing what the kids are doing these days to keep you in the ‘know’ .
